Not only is Niseko cat skiing the best way to ski and snowboard the world famous Japanese powder in all of its untracked glory. It’s also an experience unique to Hokkaido.
Imagine shredding epically deep, super dry, Japanese powder, run after run, knowing that no one else is carving it up while you wait in line at the lifts. Bombing through glades of trees, jumping off classic Niseko pillows. Sending up huge powder spray turns. Just you and your group scoring epic powder lines, lap after lap and being driven back to the top in your very own cat ski chariot.
Avalanche equipment will be provided if you do not have your own and we will also supply a delicious lunch to help keep your energy levels up. We also include an onsen ticket, so if you need to reset your tired legs after an unforgettable day cat skiing, we’ve got you covered.
We work with Hokkaido Backountry Club and seats are very limited and do sell out fast so get in touch now to secure your spot. Book a photographer to capture your day for an extra ¥100,000.
This tour offers a range of terrain options, from mild tree glades like you find in a resort, through to more technical lines with natural pillows and drops. Cat skiing is perfect for intermediate to advanced skiers & boarders looking to get into untracked backcountry snow without the ‘walking’. Our experienced guides know the terrain inside & out and will dial in the best lines for your group …. and that’s definitely not lift lines! Bring a snorkel when you go cat skiing because there’s days when the powder is that deep.
Your tour will usually commence at 8.00am, however, depending on your pick-up location, we will confirm this with you once you have booked. You will need to be ready 10 minutes prior to your arranged pick-up time… we’re known to be early when it's a powder day.
If you purchase the photography add on you will be accompanied by a professional photographer for the entire day who will take magazine quality photos of you and your group. These high resolution images will be delivered to you directly via your inbox and a link to our online archive within one week of your tour. Please ask for a quote if you also want a video of your tour.
You will be picked up from your accommodation and drop you back home at the end of the day - unless, of course, you would like to join us for apres-ski at our local watering hole. You can also checkout one of the nearby onsens or restaurants.
Please bring all your own ski attire and equipment as per usual for a day on the hill. If you have your own beacon, probe and shovel and know how to use it then please bring it along, otherwise we will supply one and demonstrate it during our morning beacon and avalanche safety briefing. Snacks and a drink for energy top-ups between runs
